We were at Three Hills Winery Wine/Jam (which my husband Dr. Mark and I host every third Friday of the month from May to Oct). I sang an original song written by Denny Sarokin called Sanibel. Our theme for our party was a Hat party! I was pleased to have some great accompaniment by guitarist, Anthony Martin, mandolinist, Kevin Rhue percussionist, Ethan Jackson, and Mbera player and creator, Patrick Hadley. We hope you can join us at Three Hills Winery for our wine jams starting in May!

This is a video from a local Ramona brewery called Reds Whites and Brews.  Every Monday night they host a Open Mic night.  I especially enjoyed this song by Mary Chapin Carpenter called Twist and Shout.  It was special because my good (closet musician) friend Mr. John Elliott joined me on his guitar which really helped make the song!  This song tells a fun story about partying hard in the deep South!  Enjoy!  Hope to see you at Reds!

“Our Ramona” CD Music Compilation In 2023 one of our local Ramona musicians (Executive Producer Mr. Doug Walker) wrote a song about his love of living here in our town of Ramona and shared it at one of our monthly Three Hills Winery Wine and Jam nights. By the next Wine & Jam I (Danielle Hughes) was ready with an original song about Ramona as well. Word spread and before we knew it, more artists began writing original songs about living here in this little part of California that many of us call home!
The music scene began to blossom and with the inspiration of artist/promoter Ashely E, Norton, and Jon Hasz, (owner of the Ramona Music store) the Ramona Music Alliance (RMA) was formed. This offered Ramona local musicians a platform to join a growing network of artists working together mutually supporting a common goal of establishing Ramona as a music hub here in San Diego County. Having been inspired by the 7 day a week music scene in New Orleans, local Ramona artist Travis Billy Ross (leader of his band Dirty Confetti) came back with a dream of establishing the same here in our town of Ramona. As all of this was happening, the idea of creating a compilation CD of original songs about Ramona was brought to life and recorded and produced by Mr. Jon Hasz at his Ramona Music Store studio. Mr. Doug Walker generously backed the initial production, with plans to use part of the proceeds to support city wide projects for our town. This CD now available for downloads and in local Ramona shops or directly from contributing artists at their music gigs and concerts. Each song is truly unique and offers perspective and a love of what it means from a small collection of artists who live here in this special place we all affectionately call…. “Our Ramona”. From all of us, we truly hope you will enjoy this CD! BY: Danielle Hughes 06/24
